Architectural Glass by Jack Brindley
Stained Glass 2024Commissioning a new work
If you are interested in commissioning an artwork, stained glass window, or other architectural element, please get in touch with your ideas and requirements. The processes is usually as follows:
Depending on your location, you may wish to come and visit me in my studio in Edinburgh where you can see samples, drawings and glass in person. Or, we can start the design process over email/phone/zoom. After the preliminary design ideas have been discussed, I will issue an estimate for the works.
If you are happy to proceed, I will send a deposit invoice to initiate the primary design stage. Upon receipt of the invoice, I will produce a selection of designs (usually 3 or 4) and a set of corresponding samples which will be sent as a PDF for discussion/ review. Once approved, the full size drawings will be made, and I will issue a secondary invoice to purchase the materials.
My production time is usually 6-8 weeks, depending on my workload at the time and the size of the project. For large projects the timescale may be longer. Once the commission is finished a third invoice will be sent and your windows will be hand-delivered and installed.
